Riding Lessons

Elsberry Riding offers all levels of Western equestrian training from beginner to advanced. An experienced riding instructor will adapt lessons to the student's comfort level. Safety of both rider and horse is our top priority. Our lesson horses are carefully chosen for each student according to the rider's skill level.

Beginning students will learn how to groom, tack, proper seating and reigning, feet positions and more. All novice riders will start out sitting and walking and will only move on to trotting when they are totally comfortable and ready.

For more experienced riders, we also teach western speed events: barrel racing; pole bending; arena racing; cone weaving patterns; stakes racing; Texas barrel racing; bowtie barrel racing; and more.

All Elsberry Riding Students will have the opportunity to participate in shows for trophies and ribbons throughout the year where they can build confidence in mastering their skills and families will have the opportunity to support them!
